About Us

Steve Alach, Director

Steve originally bought into Prospace in 2012 as a minority shareholder. Ultimately the decision was made to simplify the Prospace business and close New Zealand Manufacturing and Design and concentrate on offshore manufacturing and sourcing. The business is now owned 100% by Steve.

Steve founded the Amazon retail chain in New Zealand and led it until it’s eventual sale to the Billabong Group where he was General Manager of Billabong and Amazon New Zealand for several years. He understands retail from the shop floor up and has a terrific understanding of what it takes to deliver in retail shop design and fixtures.

Steve is still actively involve in retail by way of a shareholding in a New Zealand outdoor furniture business, Outside Space and remains committed to helping retail business deliver their instore fixture needs in a cost effective and timely manner.

Richard Stanton

Creative Lead

Creative lead designer for Prospace. If he’s not standing on the deck at home, staring out to sea then
he’s out on his bike in the hills somewhere. Obsessed by all things that are light and made from carbon fibre, his main mission outside of work is to have the World’s lightest road bike. Unfortunately, budget restraints are currently limiting this goal!

Richard has worked for a number of design companies around the world including stints in the UK and the Middle east with experience in Saudi Arabia and the UAE. His area of expertise is in creating new and exciting interior environments. He enjoys working though ideas that will deliver outstanding and innovative designs to clients while being on budget and on brand.

Prospace are suppliers to the retail and commercial fit-out sector. We are specialists in the sourcing, manufacturing and shipping of custom retail fixtures for customers located around the globe.  With local Chinese staff on the ground at our Xiamen China office located close to our partner factories, we have established an extensive and reliable supply network allowing projects to be handled promptly and sourced efficiently.

We are equally capable of bespoke, boutique projects as we are at managing the high-volume manufacture of large-scale commercial joinery contracts.

The unbeatable combination of having highly qualified, full-time long-serving staff members based in our China office and oversight from our NZ-based director, a former national retailer himself, means we consistently deliver a high-quality service to our retail commercial customers. The result is a low-risk, well-executed and transparent service, and long-term relationships.

What we supply:

The range of items we supply is diverse and includes shop fixtures such as racks, desks, mirrors, branded items, signage, drawers, wardrobes, branded hangers, belt racks, shelving, bespoke joinery pieces, mannequins and occasional chairs.

Who we supply:

Our clients have included local and international retail brands including Billabong, Skechers Shoes and other multinational retailers. We have also sourced and supplied fixtures for commercial property development projects.

Where we supply:

Prospace has been completed projects for clients in Australia, the South Pacific, Singapore, Hong Kong, Dubai, Indonesia, and more recently, Europe, Canada and the US.

Who we work with:

We are happy to deal directly with the end customer. We also maintain strong relationships with local and offshore designers and fit-out companies so we can recommend partners if there is a requirement for this level of service. We found working with existing designers and fitout contractors enabled more specialisation in the global sourcing and less conflicts of interest in the overall process of delivering a finished product.
